I LOVE Bryan Adams and have for years (decades, eep) and he toured through the area in the spring (2023… because it’s taken me that long to write this), then back again at the end of summer. Several of the local radio stations went on a massive Bryan Adams binge and in the process I heard a song I hadn’t heard before, and promptly assumed it was a new one. It is not. It’s from 1987. But the first three lines really grabbed my attention:
Put on your best dress, darlin’
Can't you see the time is right
There will never be another tonight.
It’s from his song ‘There Will Never Be Another Tonight.’
While trying to work through a problem in another story, a bunny snuck up and bit. I held onto the bunny long enough to get home and hammer this out in two sprints on the FoLC Discord group, leaving a few sentences to tie it all together a while later. Thanks to Bek for sprinting with me on a Wednesday night so many months ago!
