Having to face Paul again at any other time would have been difficult for Lois, but now that Clark is gone, it must be even more difficult. At least he's not being a jerk this time and Lois has matured enough to be professional, even if deep down she wants to set him on fire.
Knitting is a nice idea to keep her busy while she waits for Clark to return.
