This will be a perfect waste of money given that I can fly.

What a perfect start!
I promised myself to live a little now that I no longer need to hide from the authorities. But the money would be better spent on my education. Besides, standing here, I think I miss my parents more than ever.
But it's just a couple of dollars to make a dream come true.
I don't know what the saddest part of this is, but its like one punch after another.
She’s only five and all alone.
...which isn't so different than all the rest of the time, either.

“Clark!” She rubs her nose on her sleeve and wraps her arms around me. “I lost my parents.”
He said he'd come back when she really needed him. This is a really unexpected and cute way to make that come to fruition.
If I'm not careful, I’m going to lose myself in the cacophony of an entire city.
....such good training, though, in case he wants to start moonlighting in tights.
“You’re not alone, Lois,” I say softly. “I’m not going to leave your side until we’ve found your parents.”
He may not be wearing the mantle, but its lovely to see him cast in the rescuer's role anyway for Lois.
It almost seems like they’re more preoccupied with their fight than with actually finding her in the crowd.
This is so spot on. I hate this type of parents.
Suddenly I feel like I’m back on the street, watching the tragedy unfold as an intoxicated driver didn't see my parents coming when he turned onto the street.
Oh nooo!
“First you found her in the park and then you saved her from getting overrun by a car.”
Fantastic that this is the version Sam saw!
Am I even supposed to be all right after the stunt I just pulled?
He's so, so lost, poor thing. Even with the age difference, it's moments like this that make me realize that he's still a kid himself.
I take in a sharp breath and look at her parents. Will they realize that Lois and I know each other a lot better than they think?
I love the implications of this, because it feels like Lois and Clark's baggage will be switched. He's the one that will have grown up distrusting, hunted, abandoned, etc., but he'll be there for her to give her a loving childhood. So interesting.
“Of course you must come! A dinner at our home is the least we can do to thank you for saving our daughter’s life.” Her father pulls out a business card. “Wait a moment, I’ll give you our address. How about next Saturday?”
This is genius. Great little twist that I didn't see coming.
I'm really looking forward to more of these!
