. I just love Lois discovering his roots this way. This is actually kind of scratching the same itch as the fic idea where she 'dates' the Superman identity first and then gradually uncovers the boy-scout farm-boy Clark identity, albeit from a pretty different angle / situation of course.
Loved the books and trinkets on his shelf telling part of that backstory.
Also, I am a sucker for a good there-is-only-one-bed and Clark being a total gentleman, also. But... surely he can't sleep on the floor forever... ^_^'''
This chapter clears up a lot more things about this Clark's backstory and also about Ching– and wow what a doozy for a young Clark to live with the knowledge that his presence on Earth helped Nor find it.
I continue to be riveted by your writing, I did not notice any typos btw, and also your ability to have them start to loosen up around each other, while still lost of heavy themes are present at the same time. Most of my burning questions / thoughts have come up at this point in the story, and now (it seems at least) we are heading into the unknown of New Krypton, and lots of new experiences for Lois. Wonder how long will the yellow-sun powers last? Or the chocolate supplies, for that matter? How will their relationship deepen, what conflicts might come up for them to handle- or not? At the Planet in canon, Lois had a lot of existing reporting experience/confidence and opinions on how things should be done and generally she had a lot of autonomy, and here she is out of her element, literally away from her planet and everyone familiar who might have given her guidance, doesn't know the language and customs. Plus- the main areas of conflict in canon (the whole Superman triangle, Lex, all the little disagreements about stories/investigations) are not present here. The scope of where you can go with this is SO broad, I'm very excited about where this goes. I suspect she'll still be a force to be reckoned with, even if it is behind closed doors.
