No, that Lois would have rented another car or bought a train ticket or hired a helicopter to get out of Kansas as fast as she could. She would have bid goodbye to the rustic life and never looked in the rear-view mirror to see what she was leaving behind her.
I think you're so right, which was why it was sort of refreshing to be able to write a Lois who hadn't been hurt so badly and who wouldn't go to such lengths to leave. Thanks for the insightful comment.
