I'm sure Clark was telling the literal truth! Except that only
he could hear the Ambassador's bellowing.
He watched his wife, his soulmate, grow old and die, his children, his grandchildren.
That is so sad! And yet Clark very probably faces that.
One thing I'm not clear on - did Clark and Louisa leave before the Kryptonian embassy arrived? Or did they stay there, watching the embassy arrive? Or is
