Both my parents and in-laws are from Michigan ... it was probably a universal joke of that generation and they've passed it on to us, LOL.
(BTW, the edit on your first post was just to correct the topic line -- you forgot to add "FDK" before the title, so it looked like a second story post. I just thought I'd fix it with my admin-y powers to avoid any confusion going forward.
