Well Perry was certainly great here. By seeing through Clark, and then forcing him to write the plea to the Black Knight to return, he forced Clark to consider the reasons why he should, indeed, let the Black Knight return.
And then "the lovely Constance"! What a shock that was! But the most shocking thing about it was Clark's reaction. How horrified and terrified he was!
“Clark, I promise you didn’t do it. I was the one who did it . . . . I was going to make you do it—but I just couldn’t . . . . Clark, I’m so sorry. Please forgive me. I’ve missed you so much.”
What did Clark do? Clearly he didn't kill Constance. What happened? When will we know?
Adn Clark is clenching the shard of kryptonite in his bare hands for a minute. Clark, you can't make the past go away that way!
