Not surprised that Perry White figured things out - after all, he wouldn't be a man in his position if he couldn't.

think he did? Heheh. You can't always trust the narrator...But then again, sometimes you can...

And then "the lovely Constance"! What a shock that was! But the most shocking thing about it was Clark's reaction. How horrified and terrified he was!
I'm glad to hear that it was a shock! I've tried to place the reader in familiar territory (the pilot) with unfamiliar demons lurking around that lead to far different places. At least, that's what I've been telling myself...
What did Clark do? Clearly he didn't kill Constance. What happened? When will we know?

You moved the episodes around a bit, right?
Well, sorta. It's more like I took the pilot, tweaked it, took some scenes/plot-points from other episodes, and then welded it all together with some new material. The next chapter probably helps illustrate that more.
I would have really liked to see some of that life-and-death stuff and how they handled it now that Clark can't super-save them.
Hmmm....I'm not sure which "life-and-death stuff" you're referring to? I feel like I should know what you mean, but I can't think of anything right offhand...
I don't think Perry's figured out that Clark is the Black Knight.
Just because the narrator believes it doesn't mean it's true....But it also doesn't mean that it's false. :p Could be Clark's paranoid. Could be he's right. Could be it doesn't matter.
Could be I'm just feeling evasive...
Constance was the really big surprise.
Heh. Bet no one saw that coming! Honestly, it was even strange to me how certain things came together in this fic. I could have just made an OC, but I liked using someone people were already familiar with.
