Well, my original thought was that Luthor was involved in the Congo problem and so was going to asking questions this Lois couldn't answer. He was also going to keep her close so he could find out how she escaped.
But I had also already decided that Lois's first glimmer of something being seriously off physically would be during her dinner with Lex - and Lex would find that a profound turn-off.
I may come back to this idea. But then, I may hold onto it for another story.
