“I’m not hiding; I’m thinking,”
Actually she really is hiding, but I guess it is mainly so she can think better.
“And since I’m the one who saw Superman, I really don’t see the point in getting all worked up about his return.” She seemed almost blasé about the whole thing.
Overwhlemed and scared. Fortuantly the later is mainly because of false suppositions, but still.
“You saw Superman?” Cat sputtered, wanting to clobber Clark.
Clark:Lois was in pain, and hurting, and crying. I should not have left her at all. The least I could do was give her a lift.
He was supposed to go directly home to contact the MPD about the dead body in his alley,
Lois in pain was clearly a higher priority. He made the right decision to give her a lift. I am less sure he should have run off on her earlier, but giving her a lift was clearly the right decision.
he couldn’t resist taking a detour to visit his favorite groupie.
I guess Cat does not know that Lois was in pain. Still, she is not really understanding Lois and Clark's relationship, at all.
“I know! What I want to know is how long you’ve known? And how you figured it out?” Lois demanded.
Clark:At least she does not think I told Cat.
She wasn’t going to reveal anything without corroborating evidence that the person, with whom she was about to discuss this topic, had the same information she did.
Lois has not said anything that makes it clear she knows CK=SM. The "dropped you off" line sounds like that if you know, but it is not very clear.
“Back when you and he were working on that Messenger explosion story, right after he started working here,” Cat said. She flipped up her hand. “I was trying to convince him to ask me out at the time, but he said he was busy working…” She rolled her eyes. “— with you.”

for Clark ignoring Cat.
Cat decided that either Lois knew what she herself knew, or Lois should know. They had played this game long enough.

Lois won't be in the dark anymore.
I really do wish Clark and Lois would have had some conversation. He really should have told her everything before going into space.
“I didn’t drool over Superman,” Lois retorted, confirming Cat’s theory that Lois really did know.
Right, she just tries to get him to come in her apartment and talk with her while she is in the shower.
“Told me? Ha!” Lois scoffed. “I figured it out.”
Clark:Hey, I was going to tell her, but she figured out before I got a chance.
“Superman kissed you?” Cat said, shaking her head.
Actually, technically Lois started the kiss. Also, he thought Lois knew before she kissed him.
He must have totally forgotten about his having a secret identity.
Even Cat should bother asking who initiated the kiss.
“Lucky you,” Cat snapped. Great. Well, there was the end of her friendship with the Man of Steel.
Cat really does not understand Clark. Even if him and Lois had totally established an understanding and talked through everything and she had forgiven his lunkheadedness and everything was wonderful, he would still be friends with Cat.
Why would he need Cat any longer, if he had Lois to confide in?
Clark is friends with people because they need him, not because he needs them. I am looking forweard to Clark confiding in Lois, but I have fears it will not be anytime soon.
“Nothing’s wrong,” Lois insisted in a tone that told Cat something definitely was wrong.
If you keep telling yourself that Lois, maybe eventually you will believe it.
Lois didn’t say anything for a minute. “I thought I knew Superman, and I thought I knew Clark, but…” She shook her head. “I don’t really know him at all, do I?”
This is realy not a fair assesment. She knows who they are at heart. Anyway Clark tried to tell her, she just did not listen. OK, at the time it clearly seemed not to work, but still.
Clark was Clark, only he could do stuff normal men couldn’t and liked to fly around in body-hugging tights.
Actually, at heart I do not think Clark likes to do that. He does it because it is the best way to do the things he want to do.
“He said that he loved me, but he kept so much hidden from me, and he never trusted me with the truth.
I guess she has a point. Still, he did try to tell her. Also, he has been planning to tell her for two weeks now. He really should have told her back in October.
he lied about what was real and what wasn’t,”
True, but maybe she should try to figure out why he is so worried about her. Not that she could actually learn that right now since he does not remember.
Actually, he didn't tell Cat, she figured it out.
With you, he could talk about things that he couldn’t with me or anyone else.
Actually he has told the Kents and Carlos more than he told Cat.

that Lois does not know that yet.
You’ve known who he was from almost the beginning, haven’t you?”
Actually Cat really has no clue who Clark really is. Lois evidently has been sidetracked into thinking SM is his real identity, although she knows he must have another name.
“Pretty much,” Cat said with another shrug. She had told Lois that she was Clark’s best friend, and Lois had just proved her case.
Except he never even mentioned her to the Kents.
“If you could know who he was, why couldn’t he tell me?” Lois demanded.
I really think Clark should have factored in how mad Lois would be at Cat knowing first in the past, and told her sooner because of it.
“You’re asking the wrong person. You should ask Clark that,” Cat told her.
Although most recently it is Cat's fault. She was the one who instited to Clark he not tell Lois he was Superman.
Although he still didn’t have a full memory bank last time she saw him.
Cat maybe should tell Lois this detail.
“Well, I’m not going to,” Lois snapped, starting to pace.

she never will work things out with this attitude.
“If his secrecy is so important to him, he can have it and I won’t tell him that I know.”
That is just unfair and petty. This is especially so because she knows he tried to tell her back in October, she just did not believe him.
On the other hand, I guess I understand why she is mad about this. Ideally he would tell her very soon, but I have a sinking fear that he will not.
Arguably this is the one stage in their relationship they really never built up much in the TV show. I mean, as long as Lois learns that CK=SM by a way other than him telling her, there are all sorts of ways to play this out.
This is the real reason the proposal came to soon in L&C. They could have done all sorts of fun things with Lois knowing but Clark thinking he still had to pretend to be two people to her.
I guess that is the one plus to her not telling him. Still, I am

abpout it.
