Early 2nd season, Lois & Clark are someplace that blows up. Lois caught sight of a Police surveillance unit filming everyone who entered the building. She pointed it out to Clark, who without telling her, slid down his glasses and looked at the officers. Henderson, Wolf and several others that they know well. In they go and while inside Clark hears something and barely has time to grab Lois and shoot through the roof before the whole building is engulfed in the flames. He parks Lois nearby and returns as Superman to help. He saves several people and the fire department EMTS arrive. He is not thinking fast enough and does not think to tell the Police that he saved Lane and Kent first. In the statement to the LNN crew on the scene Wolfe states that news reporters Lois & Kent were at the center of the blast and are clearly dead. Intergang is believed to be behind the explosion but there is no proof. After all is said and done only two things are certain. - The building is gone.
- Lane & Kent are dead.
So now Clark has to deal with a Lois Lane who has just found out he is Superman and she is officially dead. To regain her life all Lois has to do is tell the world how she survived. That Clark Kent is Superman.

Couldn't they say that Superman saved her and Clark? Just because Superman didn't mention it, it doesn't mean they weren't saved. And besides, the police will go through what is left of the building and not find any trace of Lois's and Clark's body. Of course, there's still the whole "Clark is Superman" issue to cover. malu

If Lois and Clark were at the center of the blast, the building went BOOM, and *then* Superman showed up a bit later, he might not even be able to claim that he saved them. Depending on the size of the blast, any other people he fetched from the building would likely be either dead or half-dead, no matter who he saved first, and thus it's be *really* safe to assume they were dead, unless Superman claimed that he somehow predicted the explosion and saved L&C secretly before coming back *after* the blast to save everyone else. I like this idea! Someone please write it!

Hm, that could be difficult for Superman to fly in and save them before the implosion. malu

Yes, but this is fiction. It might be possible - assuming Lois and Clark had warning - for them to know there was a bomb-shelter or an underground exit and that's where they were when the building came down. (Hey, it worked to bring Clark back from being missing a way long time in Death and Life of Superman. Survivors were found in a bomb shelter weeks after Metropolis was wrecked so Superman faked finding Clark in a similar shelter.)

Originally posted by Dandello: for them to know there was a bomb-shelter or an underground exit An implosion such as above could crush any underground bomb shelter and underground exit. Or at least bury it very, very deep. Add some lead to the mix and perhaps they were buried so deep and the lead kept Superman from seeing them. But for more fun it could be pointed out to Superman by the EMS folks that there is no hidden underground exits, no bomb shelter. Later it could turn out that Lex's underground ark is hidden under there. When Lois and Clark are found it could become a tourist attraction with regular tours. I'd rather just have them call Perry and say Hi, we were never in the implosion. We're in Hawaii as in The Newlywed Game By Nan Smith I'm sure there is a way to bring them back but the whole point is to place Lois Lane in a place where - She has found out Clark is Superman
- Her career is gone
- Her family and almost everyone she cares about are hurt and mourning her death
- To get it all back all she has to do is expose Clark, hey she might even win an award for that story.
Of course someone still needs to figure out who killed Lois & Clark. Dandello, your Henderson already knows so he would be the logical one to work with Lois & Clark on their little problems.
