Just thinking out loud, here... Wouldn't it be fun to have another little ficathon in December? Like the one we had, back in September . I know I've got things I'm supposed to be writing (a couple challenge stories, for instance ) but, I dunno, I was just thinking with Christmas coming that this could be a cool thing to do -- cause it's just like a Secret Santa, really. You don't know who's going to get assigned to write your request and everyone gets the gift of a story. Anyone up for this? (I'll organize, just raise your hands if you're willing to write) ~Lara (trying to recapture the spirit of Christmas she lost...)

Erm... aren't we supposed to be writing something about HoL? Given the large participation in NaNo, this year at least, it seems Nov. wasn't necessarily a good month for challenges, but Dec... I'm up for a Christmas ficathon! Heck, Lois, Clark, Lucy, Perry, Jimmy and Alice are all without power during an ice storm already... . Carol

It does seem like lots of folcs are nan-moing. That is a good and sweet idea. Lara, I'll be happy to help you if you need any. On a sort of related note, I was wondering if this board as ever done a secret santa/holiday ecard exchange? I realize that there are newer folcs such as myself who don't "know" too many of you yet, still waiting for that irc password, but perhaps an ecard could accompany each story? An idea?

 (that's me, raising my hand)
Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.
Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right. Ides of Metropolis

If it's a "gift" maybe it could be similar to our regular ficathon in that each person participating picks a couple things they'd like to have in their story. It could be holiday related or centered...thoughts...lol? Mona

No theme. Taken from the other thread -- which is what I had in mind: This is basically a story trade. You list things you'd like to see in a story, things you don't want, ect. and then someone is assigned to write one for you. In return, you would also be assigned a story where you write for someone else. Wendy explained it a little better in the earlier thread, so I hope she doesn't mind if I copy it.
So, for example, for an L&C ficathon a request might look like this:
Three things I want in my fic: 1: Lois and Clark romance 2: revelation 3: Someone else finding out before Lois Preferred season: S1 or S2 Three things I don't want: 1: Lex Luthor 2: Dan Scardino 3: Babyfic I am able/willing to write: S1 and S2, all characters, drama, humour, romance, revelation. Three things I won't write: 1: Crossovers 2: Nfic 3: Romance between Lois or Clark and any other character. But before I started posting dates and rules and things, I wanted to be sure there would be people interested and willing to sign up. I'll just go ahead and post all the details in another thread shortly and I'll keep my fingers crossed for sign-ups.

I've been so gosh darned busy lately, and so into Bones fan fiction that I've been neglecting poor Lois and Clark! (I'll have you guys know that this community is far superior to the Bones one.) Anyway, I had a lot of fun with the last ficathon, and even though I feel a little burned out, I think this is a great way to rustle up some holiday cheer. Are you going to make an official sign up thread, Lara? This seems like a good way to kick my writing butt back in gear. Laura (who has missed posting here like crazy!)

I'm in. Deck the halls and all that.
Clark: "You don't even know the meaning of the word 'humility,' do you?"
Lois: "Never had a need to find out its meaning."

Deck the halls and all that. This begs the question: Does anyone actually, really deck their halls? with boughs of holly? *giggles* I've started a thread with all the info for the "challenge" - you'll find it right here, under the tree. Thanks guys!

My mom decks the staircases with boughs of imitation evergreen rope. Does that count?
Speaking of which, count me in. I need something short and sweet.
