I know I am in the minority, but I have always loved dandelions.

All feedback appreciated.

I confused dandelions and daffodils - which had my brain tied up in knots as I read this. But then I looked up the flower name and suddenly an epiphany hit me. And as I read the name of the flower again, I can't believe I didn't get this sooner. The German name for the flower is "Löwenzahn". Löwe is lion in English and "Zahn" means tooth. And looking at the word, I can see that dande and "Zahn" looks as if they just might have the same archaic word in common.

So a dandelion is a "lion's tooth" in German, too? Fascinating! The English word is derived from the 14th century French phrase "dent-de-lioun" which meant "lion's tooth."

To me, personally, the flower looks a lot more like the sun than like a lion's tooth.
