Dandelions (1/1)
by Lynn S. M.
As Effie finished washing the dishes, she stole glances through the window at the dandelions scattered throughout her yard. They were her favourite flower. Their young leaves could be used in salads. Their cheery flowers brightened the day and could be used to make wine. In senescence, their white fluffy floaters delighted children.
They gave of themselves so freely throughout their lives, but most people took them for granted, or even despised them. She put away the last dish and sighed. Which should she do next: Vacuum or start another load of the kids’ laundry?
