I absolutely love this part and I hope that they get closer to the solution to his problem because of this.
It was surely hard for each of them to experience this but if it helps at least it wasn’t for nothing.

Wow, this was awesome! (as usual).
And poor Houdini. He must be super confused. First he protects Lois from Clark and then thinks he needs to protect Clark from Lois.
Really hope they can solve Clark’s problem.
Can't wait for next Friday!

Another wonderful installment! Loved it so much!

Agreed that Houdini must be so confused!

At least they now know what each of the types of kryptonite do to Clark...so they can (hopefully?) find a solution from there.

And...now that Clark has now powers...he can...sleep inside the house??? And go to the Corn Festival??? grovel

The "I love yous" were SO well done! SQUEEE!!! love

Ahhh, can't we just time jump forward a week to next Friday?!? smile1

Thanks for this wonderful story!!

He'd spent the night in a tent, the heartbeats of Lois, his parents and Houdini keeping him company. The soothing sounds had chased away any sense of loneliness, almost as if he'd been sleeping in the house with them.

GAHHHHHHHHHHH *melts*

Quote
“Thank you for trying this,” she whispered into his ear. “Please, whatever happens, Clark, know this - I love you.”

He stood frozen, struck by lightning, as she let go of him. Clark couldn’t believe what she’d said and he couldn’t reply either.

OMG!! I gasped out loud!! GAHHHH!!!

Quote
"I had to." A smile crept onto his lips. "The thing is, I love you, too."

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!! *dies of WAFFs*

And omg I didn’t even realize the comparison until I read Jess’ comparison!! That’s right that Houdini first had to protect Lois and then Clark from one another. Wow!! Poor confused boy!

Closer to answers, it feels like… but still no answers! mecry

That's a distinct possibility now.

It was a tough scene for all of them.

Thank you. I might have taken them just a step in the right direction. But it's still a ways to go. I hope y'all don't mind.

Hi Barbara!
Quote
Thanks to Kathryn84 for looking after Houdini.

If places were reversed, he would have felt the same way.
Basically, if Lois’s father had taken him for a drive into the woods.

Quote
The soothing sounds had chased away any sense of loneliness, almost as if he’d been sleeping in the house with them.
Awwww

Quote
Lois smiled tightly. “I promise not to take any unnecessary risks.”

Clark raised his brows. “I’ll hold you to that.”
Good thing he doesn't know her definition of 'necessary’.

Quote
One rock was green, the other one red, but both were mesmerizing and terrifying at the same time.
Like a door marked ‘private’ is to Lois.

Quote
Lois’ gaze drifted toward the two glowing rocks and she bit her lip. “I guess we should test your reaction to them, what do you think?”
shock

Quote
He wanted a future with her and this was how he might get it. So how could he back out now?
Eeeep! And so well written clap

Quote
Let’s try the red one first.”

“What if something bad happens?”
He might get loopy. Horny. Hungry. Paranoid. Sleepy.

Quote
Clark guessed that she was having second thoughts, too.
They didn’t discuss how exposing Clark would worry the guys parents, did they? Oh boy, is Lois in for a whooping.

Quote
Feeling her body flush against his was a sensation so incredible that he wasn’t sure words even existed to describe it.
All his pent up feelings rise up in him?
CLARK: ummm…yes, let's call it that.

Quote
All the pent up tension seeped from his body
shock
CLARK: Sorry!

Quote
“Please, whatever happens, Clark, know this – I love you.”
/Blinks/

Quote
A deep flush tinted Lois’ cheeks and she ducked her head, hurrying back to the crystals as if her admission had surprised her just as much as it had surprised Clark.
She might get lucky and he could die or get amnesia from the crystals.

Quote
He saw Lois approaching him with some strange glowing object. But his eyes quickly drifted toward her ample cleavage and her luscious lips.
Awwww, he’s seeing red clap

Quote
Kissing her was even better than he’d thought. She tasted sweet and sexy. Quickly his tongue darted forward, teasing her lips gently. She parted them to invite him in. Playfully he suckled at her lower lip before he went on to exploring the silky cave of her mouth that promised so much more. A low moan escaped his throat and he pulled her closer. He just couldn't get enough of her.
Does this scene make the story eligible for Best First Kiss?

Quote
Houdini pressed into him, pushing him back. A low growl escaped his throat.
Bad, Clark. Bad. No. Bad.

Quote
She had a dreamy expression on her face, her cheeks flushed. There was a gleam in her eyes that stirred a deep desire inside him. Though this time it felt more real than before. He exhaled slowly, fighting to get his emotions back under control.
So, they gonna keep that piece crystal for…additional experimentation?

Quote
He shrugged. “I wouldn’t know what else could have compelled me to kiss you without permission.”

She grinned. “Boyscout.”
clap

Quote
”Clark!” Lois’ eyes widened and she rushed in his direction.
She’s not gonna pull a Jonathan, is she?

Quote
More pain stole his breath.
She is!

Quote
Acting on instinct, Clark pushed himself off the ground, following his dog who headed straight for Lois. He had to get there first. Another strong wave of pain slammed into him as he pushed Lois down, shielding her just in time before Houdini’s body could connect with hers.
Eeep!

Quote
Her reply was something between a laugh and a sob. “I’m fine. What about you?”

“Been better,” he admitted. “I think I need a moment.”
laugh

Quote
”You saved me.”

“I had to.” A smile crept onto his lips. “The thing is, I love you, too.”
Awwww…

That was a great installment.

Thanks to Kathryn84 for looking after Houdini.

I just hope I did everything right with Houdini, I wouldn’t want Lois or Clark being mad at me for not giving Houdini all the love, cuddles or treats he deserves.

Thanks for another great chapter! Clark’s and then Lois’s “I love you” melted my heart! So sweet! Houdini sure earned his treats. Poor boy! Maybe Clark’s powers will return this time without any hiccups. Sometimes a solution is easy. I can’t wait for next Friday! I love this universe! Thank you!

Another fantastic addition to the MagiKal series. Even as the analytic part of my brain realized that you wouldn't let anything really bad happen -- or, at least, nothing permanently bad, the rest of me was feeling just as nervous as Clark, Lois, and Houdini. And that is definitely a credit to your skills as a writer.

Quote
Sure, he was also taking a risk. But in the end, life was about taking risks once in a while.
You've provided more than sufficient motivations for him making the choice he made, so what follows is more a comment on me than either on Clark or on your writing: Even with those stakes, I doubt I would have risked it. I'm not sure whether that makes Clark braver or more foolhardy than I; perhaps a bit of both.

Quote
Please, whatever happens, Clark, know this - I love you.
It looks like Clark and Houdini aren't the only ones taking risks and making themselves vulnerable today.

Quote
“Hey, babe, got any plans for tonight?” He winked at her and leaned in.
Oh, boy. The red-K is having the same effect as it did in canon.

Quote
A low growl escaped his throat.
Good for you, Houdini, to play chaperone to prevent Clark from doing something he would later regret.

Quote
Had the dog intervened because he was jealous or had he sensed that Clark hadn't been in control of his actions? If only there were a way to ask him.
Definitely the former. If it had been the latter, then once Houdini had separated the two of them, he would have stayed between them and tried to get Lois, not Clark, to move back. (At least that's how the dog I had had growing up would behave.)

Quote
His knees buckled underneath him and raging nausea rolled in his stomach, letting any experience with his out-of-control powers pale in comparison.
Poor Clark. Your description of his agony is so vivid.

Quote
"I had to." A smile crept onto his lips. "The thing is, I love you, too."
Awww...

Well, the positive side of Clark being powerless is that now, at last, he can spend some time in the farmhouse. (Unless, of course, he is afraid that his powers will come back suddenly and uncontrollably.)

Is it tomorrow yet? wink

Joy,
Lynn
