This will likely become a little series I work on off and on....
Yay!
“The sun is much stronger, and when I really need it, it feels . . . hm, like warm sparkling water, spreading over and through me," Superman said, smiling.
Cute!
"He's remembering something," Jon pointed out helpfully.
Jon always knew.
Jon has Clark's empathy. He's such a good kid, he would make a great super hero. I still hope, but each season it becomes more unlikely.
"They . . . they said I was weird," Jordan said, wiping his eyes.
"Weird? Who? Why?" Superman asked.
"At school," he muttered, trying not to cry more than he already was.
He couldn't be a baby in front of Superman!
"I said the sun tickled and they laughed and said I was weird and that that’s not how the sun feels at all." He ducked his head. “They . . . they were mean.”
Poor Jordan.
Maybe his problems were magnified by early signs of powers and he didn't know what it was.
Superman swallowed and took a slow deep breath before giving him a hesitant smile.
“Hey, bud,” he finally greeted.
“Dad!” Jon shouted.
That reveal worked so much better than in the show!
Thank you for sharing! It was a nice story!
