Gotta say, I usually hate the de-aged trope because most people don't write kids well but you've got it spot on - he doesn't seem too babyish or too grown up. 5-year-old Kal is so perfectly 5. Curious to see how you're going to wrap this up, especially with only one chapter to go. I've really enjoyed this whole series. Thinking of going back to the beginning and rereading it. It's so much fun.
