Quotes:

Dr. MAMBA (about replacing the president with a clone): This is so much cheaper than an election..

LOIS: And look, there's Elvis, and Jimmy Hoffa, and the plot to 'Showgirls'.

LOIS: But then what am I supposed to do, forget about our wedding?! Bang! Zoom! Hello, Pulitzer; goodbye, Clark?!.

LOIS: I never thought of myself as a honey.

LOIS: Marrying you is the most remarkable thing that’s ever happened to me.

ELLEN: Apparently, I’m unreasonable and controlling. Why has nobody ever told me this before?
LOIS: I have repeatable, for years.
ELLEN: And what have a said?
LOIS: That I shouldn’t wear bangs. That red isn’t my color. That I’ve gained weight. That I slouch when I stand.

LOIS: Mother, aliens aren't all bad. I mean, assuming there are such th--
ELLEN: Of course they're bad! They eat your brains! I read the papers! They abduct women for bizarre sexual experiments!
LOIS: Bizarre? Like... what?

Possible Plot Bunnies:
The doppelbufo frog seems to fit right in with Jurassic Park and the timeline for the research paper works with the Michael Chrichton book release. What if there’s a Jurassic Park?

Details:

The wedding is on Feb 11th, 1996, Wylie Chapel, central Metropolis.
The episode starts four days before the wedding.

First time that Clark calls Lois ‘honey’ and ‘his little tornado’.

Clark floats in front of his tv
Clark is able to zoom in to a photo print of a CCTV tape, able to make out a perfectly sharp picture of a face and a license plate from a smudge sized spot.

Lois freaks out because something horrible always happens to them.
Lex sends creepy gifts: dead roses for Lois and a destroyed wedding cake for Clark
Lois stays over at Clark’s after the wedding rehearsal dinner fell through. What do Ellen and Sam say about it?

Lois needs a story to distract herself. She gets a story about stolen frogs. It was discovered five years ago that the DNA of the doppelbufo frog can be grafted onto DNA from other animals and then helps to make perfect copies. They also heal fast.

The parents fly in and their hotel (Metropolis Diamond Hotel; Stansbury Hotel on the signage) is booked solid. There’s a rainstorm over Metropolis and flights are grounded.

Lucy can’t fly in due to canceled flights.
Cousin Cindy is offering to step in as maid of honor. She does not have a great track record for marriages. Cousin Cindy chats up Jimmy.

The US president (Frederick Randolph) is staying at the same hotel. He still remembers Lois from their earlier interview in Season Two (Return of the Prankster).
Dr Isaac Mamba cloned the US president and the principal secret service agent.
Dr. Mamba makes continuous moves on Lois when investigates him in his room.
Greentech funds Dr. Mamba’s research. It’s owned by OmniAgricultural which used to be a division of LexCorp.
Lois concludes that lex is trying to kill the president.
Lex had the Metropolis Diamond Hotel built with secret passages.
They catch the cloned president and uncover the plot. But only after Lex is pardoned and has disapeared.

Clark is now married to a clone.

I haven't watched this episode in a while, but I have always wondered if Lois and Clark had a wedding reception?

I assume they would have?

Anyway, I just think Clark should have figured out something was off with "Lois" much sooner if they indeed had a wedding reception and he spent that time with her.

How did the clone fake her way through the reception? First dance? Toasts? Speeches? Cutting the cake? Talking to all the guests, her parents, Clark's parents? And no one be, hmm Lois is acting a little strange.

Maybe Lex trained her on reception etiquette.

I guess though, if your new bride is acting a little strange you don't automatically think clone...but still. Clark should have wised up earlier imho.

They went from the church to the limousine. I think the limousine comes last so there was no reception.

We also had a longer fic where Lex made sure the clone was prepped in all things Lois, including her previous experience with gentleman callers, so Clark would find any surprises.
