I'm super intrigued! I'm so behind I was definitely NOT going to read this one since it was so new (and I figured I get to it in January, lol), and I skimmed it and then re-read it, and now I'm replying to feedback as I check for an update that I KNEW wouldn't be posted yet.
So, yes, definitely intrigued!

I love this start. It's just such a fun way to be introduced to your version of Sam.

This is such a great summary couched in character description! Such economical and effective writing.

Oooof. This reminds me of what the Kryptonians sentenced Clark to on the show. Nor is not in for a good time.
As I have explained before, our government would not survive a complete upheaval of the ruling council.
This whole section is sad. If their planet hadn't died, they wouldn't be on the move now. They might not have the same council members, replacement might be easier (even with hereditary restrictions)... Just sad.

Really love how this is phrased, and that Sam is giving her the choice. It feels like he's really going to ask her to consider it, not force her into it. Consent is so important.
Sam rested his head in his hands and groaned. Lois was not going to like this.
