Extremely long time reader, first time poster.
Recent dipping my toes back in and can't locate an old favourite. Was an AU story.
Plot that I remember was Clark was a retired paramedic or firefighter. He was power-less since an explosion in a kryptonite contaminated facility. He was quite scarred from burns an living as a recluse in the mountains. He had never been Superman. He rescued Lois from a blizzard or car accident near his cabin. It was quite long, possibly a series. It is possible that I have merged two stories in my head. It was probably more than 5 years ago.

The only blizzard-cabin-rescue meet-cute I remember is the four parter into The Woods by Virginia R on the dark side. This would fit the "merge" theory.

welcome to the boards. The story you're looking for sounds a lot like Beauty and the Beast. It's in the nfanfic archive, so you need access first. But since you know the story, you probably do anyway.
