Okay, I'm a little bit late to this one, but since nobody has mentioned it yet...

Christmas isn't officially Christmas for me until I hear the original version of "Fairytale of New York" on the radio - the one with the Pogues/Shane McGowan (AFAIK the band members play the accompaniment) - and Kirsty McCall.

It's the first song I ever learned on the tin whistle, and I really, really, really, really love it. And yes, here's where I warn everybody with delicate sensibilities to give it a miss - the Irish aren't exactly saints when it comes to swearing, and this is a *very* Irish song wink
