#22 After reading your reply, I couldn’t wait to read today’s fic so I stayed up until after midnight to read it and I’m glad I did. I love it!! I wasn’t expecting the Winter Solstice but I’m glad you included it. Celebrating the longest night and the brighter days ahead is lovely.
It was sad when Lois thought about their last night together before Clark left for New Krypton. There will be moments when the pain of that time surfaces but Superman was there to enclose her in his arms and float them into the night sky together.
Lois confessing that she watched his star every night made me sniffle. Clark’s reply that now she doesn’t have to watch it alone was sweet. With the light returning, it was nice to banish those dark thoughts. They have much brighter days ahead to look forward to.
It’s always hard to pick my favorite line but the below struck a chord with me. I think it fits the Winter Solstice extremely well.
Clark chuckled, shaking his head. “You brought the light into the room, Lois. That’s what tonight is about - finding warmth and hope even in the darkest moments. And you’ve always been my light.”
There’s only two days left and I’ve gotten spoiled. I’m going to miss having these daily gifts but I can’t wait to read tomorrow’s fic!! This series has been my light this holiday season. Thank you for brightening my days! I love this series!
