Hi Kathryn!
December 17th
Peek now, and you’ll miss the magic. Even Superman doesn’t use his buzz buzz to spoil the surprise!
Actually…didn’t he peek under Lois’s wrappings that one time when they were playing poker in Season Four? He mentioned about it being the closest he’d get during the game.
“St. Lazarus? Isn’t he the one who… you know, came back from the dead?”
Yes, the patron saint of superhero girlfriends.
Lois glanced up, touched by the thoughtfulness behind the gesture. “Let me guess -you already cleared it with Perry?”
They’re doing field research for a human interest piece. They also get an interview with the mayor, who just *happens* to swing by and swing the ladle, so to speak.
Clark grinned, his eyes twinkling. “He was surprisingly on board. Said it’d be great for the Planet’s community coverage. […]Of course, he’s expecting a write-up about this too - something with that touchy-feely angle you’re so fond of in our pieces.”
See?
Plus, we’ll still have time to work on that charity scandal story afterward.
Oh no, I missed the frontpage story about the expired soup can donations by the Church Group.
Clark chuckled, folding his arms. “Take your time. And don’t worry - you’re off kitchen duty today. We’ll be serving, not cooking.”
One food poisoning event per season is enough for the poor folk. If they get sick every time they visit the soup kitchen, they will start to not come back.
Lois paused just a step inside, her breath catching as the medley of scents hit her all at once. The sudden wave of nausea was unexpected, and she instinctively took a step back, her face briefly registering discomfort.
Well…mark me down for Lois feeling very sensitive right now. Nicely hinted at with the choices

“Well, not today,” she said warmly. “Today, you’re important for me and my husband over there.” She indicated in Clark’s direction.
Nicely done!
This edit would’ve come earlier but Jimmy interrupted.

And so timely with the next hint!
