Well, I once read a sci-fi story where the Earth was plunging towards ecological collapse. A group of desperate scientists managed to send a message to the past, using faster-than-light tachyons particles which, according to Einstein, might theoretically exist. When the people of past received the message, they changed their ways and saved the Earth. But the original timeline still existed, and life on Earth died in that one.
Wonderful premise, Shayne! I loved how Lois used her knowledge of the future to place a (winning) bet and win the money she needed to go to Smallville. Oh, she has to make a big impression on Clark! She has to try to stay close to him too, I think. At least I would so much like to see that happen.
