They just need to wait until some OTHER doctor starts randomly experimenting with interdimensional travel and then Clark appears, as if out of nowhere but really just moving superfast, and claims to have been sucked through the interdimensional vortex.
Or not.
Terry's idea wasn't bad either.
But my favorite idea for an ending went like this. "Whoopee."
