Yet everything the visiting Clark has done has made it harder for Clark to have a relationship with Lois Lane and to become Superman.

Perhaps the "Protectors" plan is tick off Clark till he reaches a point where he rebels against the "help" this other Clark is providing.

I'd love to see this Clark adopt a masked costume that looks nothing like Superman's and begin helping on his own in the shadows.

Perhaps a masked or hooded version of the New Krypton costume.
