As for Clark, he decided to stop thinking about Lana only for it to be revealed that he'd been fantasizing about her. He's the one I want to live in the moment the most. I know he thinks that his teenage inner-self ruminations are harmless, but they're not. Not by a mile.
A very good point! Can someone point this out to Clark? Perhaps in the context of a story he works on as an intern?
Matthew 5:28 New Jerusalem Bible But I say this to you, if a man looks at a woman lustfully, he has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Matthew 5:28 Good News Bible: Today’s English Version But now I tell you: anyone who looks at a woman and wants to possess her is guilty of committing adultery with her in his heart.
I think the only thing that can save this relationship is for Clark to
- Get tossed into another Superman/Clark Kent free 'Verse
- The New Kryptonians to arrive and demand Clark return with them
- Nightfall occur and Clark lose his memory and be free to express love and affection for Lois
- Clark to face his denial and admit to himself he fell for Lois on first sight and picked her over Lana at each and every junction because of his feelings.
With both the New Kryptonians and AltVerse solutions Clark would be in a position to see who he really really misses. Even better if there is a Lana Lang but no Lois or Clark in the AltVerse!
I'd love to see the Nightfall solution. If only so I could see this byplay reworked for OTOH
Episode 1.13
"All Shook Up" CLARK: "And we are friends, right?"
LOIS: "Sure we're friends."
CLARK: "Are we... more than friends?"
LOIS: "More than ... ? I told you. We're partners. We work closely together."
CLARK: "How close?"
LOIS:"Close. Not close, close, but close."
