This evening - after they had eaten - was there any way to manoeuvre them into some sort of physical contact? Her head on his shoulder perhaps? Or she could inch her foot towards him and hope he would massage it again ...
I like this line of thinking

Heh. I love all of Lois's seemingly innocent queries. In a very intense conversation, they made me chuckle.
His smile unfurled like petals in the spring sunshine. His eyes were soft and clear, and for the first time, there was no cautionary veil to mask his feelings. "How are we going to do this?" he asked in a low voice that melted her insides.
Mine are sufficiently melted as well.
"I need your strength, and your humour, and your steadfastness. I need you."
He stared at their joined hands. "It seems superfluous to say that I need you."
This almost seemed like a prelude to wedding vows. V. lovely.
And now Menzies... the die is cast! One thing is that he seems to be delegating and not demanding to see Clark's head on a platter. Perhaps there's the possibility of negotiating with Scardino? Shadbolt isn't going to like what has been planned for him which might help L&C's cause. But ultimately whether Clark is dead or out means the same for Shadbolt's assignment, it ceases to exist. Gah! the clock is officially ticking. I can't wait to see what happens.
