Hi, Mouse!

Ooh! Yay! Clark's a Kent now! Finally! I was so worried that Trask would come into this, but I guess it makes sense that he wouldn't want anyone looking into his business.
Yep. He knows bigger troubles will be ahead for him if he makes an official claim of Clark being missing. He doesn't want to be officially connected to an abused child.

Oh, and bonus yay! for Clark picking up so quickly on learning, to the point of deciding he wants to become a journalist someday. Hmm... Why do I feel like I know where that will take him...
Because you do. laugh Also, it helps to have a flawless memory! (Or close enough to one!)

I'm curious too about Jonathan and Martha's rejection. What could possibly keep them from adopting a child? Is this something different from canon, or along the same lines?
Did they ever say in L&C canon? I know I've read at least one fic that had that with an arrest record for their involvement in the civil rights marches. I was thinking along the same lines. I will probably write it in when prepping it for the archive.

Great chapter! Things are starting to look up for Clark-- I hope they stay that way for now. So, are we going to see Clark in school any time soon? Or are we going to skip farther forward than that?
You won't see him in high school, but you will see him while he is still high school aged, even though he will be caught up enough to attend regular school the following fall.

Things are definitely looking up for him! smile
