In the pilot, Dean actually walked around all four walls of the room, like the Fred Astair bit. In Brutal Youth, Clark and Lois were - ahem- in bed on the ceiling, a more static shot and hence easier.
For some reason Apollo is a relatively common name for a flop house. I don't know why, except it's supposed to make something sleazy sound fancy.
