You're right, BJ. I did sort of fudge on that detail. Thanks for pointing it out. So I've now gone back and changed it slightly. I now have Clark pushing Deter away from Lois and grabbing Lois by the shoulders before Deter takes the swing. So now if Henderson arrests Deter, he would really have to arrest Clark, too. And he really doesn't want to do that.
As for Clark wanting to press charges... I doubt he'd want to do that since it would raise questions about the reason he wasn't hurt. And that would jeopordize his secret. Now, if that were the only way to get Lois away from Deter, I suspect he would do it, even if he were to get charged in return. But, as we know, that's not his only option.
