Absolutely not!!!!
Actually, I don't think Tank felt cheated either; he was simply pointing out the unusual nature of the story. We don't get many 'in-betweenies' like that these days - the sort of story which preserves continuity, but gets there in a slightly different route - and in a way it's a shame.
